Coventry University Students' Union on Priory Street had a long history as a live music venue, dating back to the days when the institution was known as Lanchester Polytechnic and later Coventry Polytechnic. Concerts were regularly held in the Students' Union building, including in its basement bar, known as the Biko Bar. Oasis played in the Biko Bar on 30 April 1994. A surviving handwritten setlist from the show was taped to the stage floor during the performance and was later retrieved and signed backstage by the band.
