Show Notes
- The Arena was housed in the former Pavilion Theatre at 208 Newport Road. The building opened in 1913 and was converted into a cinema the following year, later operating as the Pavilion Cinema. After the cinema closed in 1957, the building became a discotheque and was known as the Rock Garden during the 1970s. Following a renovation in 1991, it reopened as a rock concert venue and later operated as The Arena nightclub and live music venue. The upstairs area had a reported capacity of around 400 people.
