Show Notes
- The Wheatsheaf at 84-92 Church Street was a well-established live music venue during the early 1990s, hosting artists including Radiohead, Elastica, Echobelly, Shed Seven, Supergrass and Oasis. Oasis played here on 11 April 1994 with Whiteout as support, on the same day their debut single 'Supersonic' was released. Tickets were priced at £3 in advance and £4 on the door, with doors opening at 7:30pm. Photographer Alexander Hough later recalled that promoter Dave Corbett of Mike Lloyd's was already convinced that Oasis were destined for bigger things, while 'Supersonic' particularly stood out during the performance. The building later became a Wetherspoon pub in 1999 and remains in use today.
