Show Notes

  • Tramway is located in the former Coplawhill tram works and depot on Glasgow's south side. After the city's tram system closed, the site became the Glasgow Museum of Transport in 1964. When the museum moved to new premises in 1987, the building was converted into an arts and performance venue. Oasis played here on 7 April 1994 as part of the Sound City '94 Festival. The performance was recorded by BBC Radio 1 and rebroadcast in 1997, although 'Shakermaker' was omitted from the later broadcast. Before the final song, Liam introduced 'Supersonic' by saying, 'This is the last one. And it's going to be the single, Supersonic so go and buy it.' The single was released four days later on 11 April 1994. Many bootlegs list the venue as 'Glasgow Tramshed', referring to the building's former use as a tram depot rather than the venue's official name, Tramway.
