- The Fleece and Firkin opened as a pub and live music venue in 1982, housed in the historic Wool Hall at 12 St Thomas Street. The building was constructed in 1830 as a wool market, which inspired the venue's name. Over the years it became an important stop for emerging artists, hosting acts including Oasis, Radiohead, Muse, Suede, Jeff Buckley and Amy Winehouse. The venue was later renamed The Fleece and continues to operate at the same location today.
