The first of two consecutive nights at The Cathouse, originally located at 9 Brown Street in Glasgow. The club opened in 1990 in the former Hollywood Studios building before relocating to Union Street in the mid-1990s. The original building has since been demolished.
Although 'I Am the Walrus' was performed and recorded at The Cathouse, the band were reportedly unhappy with the recording. Instead, the version released on the 1994 'Cigarettes & Alcohol' single came from a soundcheck at the Gleneagles Hotel on March 9, 1994, recorded in an empty venue. Crowd noise was subsequently added to make it sound like a live concert performance.
Similarly, the version of 'Bring It On Down' included on the promotional K-VOX cassette distributed with Vox magazine in October 1994 was also credited to The Cathouse but originated from Gleneagles.
