Show Notes

  • The Old Trout was a small live music venue on River Street in Windsor. During the early 1990s it became an important stop for emerging alternative and indie bands hosting acts including Oasis, Blur, Supergrass, Suede and The Verve. Oasis played here on 7 May 1994, only a few months before the release of 'Definitely Maybe'.
  • A surviving contract for the show, dated 18 April 1994, includes a hospitality rider requesting 24 large cans of quality lager, four litres of still mineral water, 10 cans of assorted soft drinks, fruit juices, tea and coffee, as well as a good-quality two-course hot meal. The venue was also required to provide at least two able-bodied sober staff to assist the band's road crew with unloading, setting up, breaking down and reloading the equipment. — The Standard
