- The Lomax opened at 34 Cumberland Street in 1993, occupying three floors of the Lomax Building. Its owners set out to create a venue with a similar spirit to Liverpool's legendary Eric's club and it quickly became an important part of the city's live music scene. Oasis played here on 13 April 1994 with Whiteout and Small. Tickets were priced at £3 in advance and £4 on the door, with doors opening at 9pm and the venue remaining open until 2am. By this point, Oasis were already attracting considerable attention and a later article noted that many people from Liverpool's local music scene attended the show. The Lomax went on to host artists including Radiohead, Supergrass and The Verve.
