- The Forum opened as a live music venue in 1993, housed in a building originally constructed in 1939 as public rest rooms and conveniences. The location itself has a much longer history, having previously been occupied by a forge and other buildings dating back to at least the 18th century. Since becoming a music venue, The Forum has hosted many artists early in their careers, including Oasis, Coldplay, Muse and Adele. With a standing capacity of only around 250 people, the venue is known for its intimate atmosphere. In 2012, NME named The Forum 'Britain's Best Small Venue'.
