Show Notes

  • Oasis played here at the Sony Music Convention. Sony took over the entire hotel for an event showcasing new UK bands - one being Oasis. The sound nearly blasted the Ballroom roof off.
  • Noel was told that all of their liquor was free. He ordered a $1,000 bottle of brandy and cigars.
  • This is the first Oasis gig known to have been recorded in full.
  • For many years, this show was listed as February 6. Research published by The Right Ear of Nash on the Blonde Razor Blade blog found that Jeff Buckley performed immediately before Oasis at the same Sony Music Conference, ruling out the February date because Buckley was touring in Chicago at the time. Billboard confirms that the conference took place at Gleneagles between March 7 and 11, 1994. Buckley's Gleneagles recording circulated with the date September 3, 1994, but this appears to have resulted from the European date 09/03/1994 being interpreted in the American month/day format. This strongly points to March 9, 1994 as the correct date for both performances.
  • Other Bands: Died Pretty • The October Project • Misty Oldland • Junkhouse • Comanche Park • The Choice • Jeff Buckley
