Oasis' first radio session, recorded and broadcast for BBC Radio 5's Hit The North on August 11th, 1993.
A possible second broadcast has sometimes been dated September 17th, 1993, but Hit The North aired on Wednesdays, making September 15th the more plausible date if the session was rebroadcast that month.
The session was long misidentified as an in-studio recording from November 8th, 1993, after the date "11/08" was apparently interpreted in US date format on the 1998 bootleg Bite of the Apple. It's identity was clarified in 2011 when an Ignition off-air master cassette was sold on eBay and an audio transfer subsequently circulated among Oasis collectors.
"I Will Believe" was later released as a B-side to "Supersonic", while "Bring It On Down" appeared as "Bring It On Down (Live)" on the "Shakermaker" CD single. "Cigarettes & Alcohol" from the same session was later released on the Stop the Clocks EP, where it was labelled as a demo.
Liam opens "Bring It On Down" with "Good Evening Great Britain, hello..."
